I first met Sinead a couple of months ago when she came for a complimentary cake consultation. She was such a chilled out bride and I was so pleased when she said she’d like me to make a rustic floral wedding cake for her and Matt for their wedding day at Cubley Hall. Cubley Hall in Penistone is a gorgeous rustic barn wedding venue which can host your ceremony outside under a beautiful garden pavilion (weather permitting!) with your reception being held in a stunning ancient barn.
Sinead had chosen a three tier rustic wedding cake with an abundance of fresh flowers (provided by Forget Me Not Florists of Rotherham) in shades of blue and purple. Sasha at Forget Me Not created the stunning top display for the cake and gave me a bucket of fresh flowers to play with, so I got to create the separators between the cake tiers. We used scabious, sea holly, cornflowers, some eucalytus and gypsophelia with delphinium flowers in and amongst.
Flavours of lemon, salted caramel and chocolate were chosen by Sinead and Matt for their wedding cake. We also provided some vanilla cupcakes as wedding favours. These were finished with a name and a little twine bow, as a nod to the rustic finish and the barn wedding venue.
