Hannah from Anna Beth Photography organised a Colourful Rustic DIY Wedding Styled Shoot in Huddersfield to be held at the stunning garden of Alison from Flowers in the Garden. She asked if I could create a rustic wedding cake to be decorated with some fresh flowers from Alison’s garden and some sweet treats for a dessert table.
I created a simple rustic finished four tier cake and used some of the amazing flowers from Alison’s garden to decorate it. We chose roses, sweet william, some herbs and other flowers to create a simple yet colourful rustic wedding cake. Alison has so many beautiful flowers, it was tricky to choose what to decorate the cakes and dessert table with! The cakes are presented on cake stands from Add Vintage.
For the dessert table I created some cupcakes which we decorated with tiny blossoms, meringues, mini cakes, cookies and my new favourite thing – chocolate tiles! For these I used some petals from roses in my own garden and luckily they tied in perfectly with the colours used on the day. Adding a little edible gold leaf made them sparkle!
Here are some photos from the day…
